Marvel will be teaming with Telltale Games for a console and PC series to premiere in 2017.
Marvel has done a fantastic job recently growing their shared universe and introducing new iterations of characters who weren`t always at the forefront of people`s minds, while consistently announcing confirmed characters for future films and expanding with new TV shows.
Though there isn`t any official information as to which character(s) the game will feature, there is some early speculation as to what it may have to offer the MCU as a whole (if the game will have anything to do with it, that is).
It would make sense that the game would contribute something to the current shared universe, and if it does, the question is what. It is more than possible that Marvel could follow in the footsteps of the Star Wars franchise and release a game that includes downloadable content of exclusive footage (as they are doing with Battlefront).
Obviously Marvel is no stranger to producing a few quality games that people like (Spider-Man Unlimited, Contest of Champions and Avengers Alliance come to mind), but they have yet to create a game that takes advantage of interactivity in order to add something to the MCU (though we still have to see what LEGO Marvel`s Avengers has to offer).
